Its interactive exhibits and hands-on activities, offers a close up look at the auto-racing world. The museums collection includes NASCAR, land speed racing, drag racing, open wheel, sports cars and motorcycles.
The rotating display has included historic race cars from Danika Patrick, Mickey Thompson, Herm Petersen, Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Among its features are other historic performance vehicles as well as motorcycles. Guests can experience an assortment of racing simulators, hands on exhibits, and behind-the-scenes views of the world of racing.
The World of Speed offers a variety of summer educational programs for young people introducing them to many aspects of motorsports as well as the career opportunities in the automotive industry. Local schools have been provided space for shop classes giving students an added opportunity for hands on learning.
